UK innovation-funding intelligence, tested before it is sold.
GrantSignal is evaluating whether official award records can support credible B2B research. The current validation result is a no-go for a timely new-award product, so access remains limited to the validation list.
For specialist recruiters, engineering consultancies, laboratories, manufacturers and technical suppliers.
Source discipline
Facts first. Inferences clearly labelled.
Any future product must preserve provenance, show confidence, and distinguish SOURCE FACTS from GRANTSIGNAL INFERENCES.
Current status
The initial official-data validation is a no-go.
The most recent Innovate UK sample was first observed a median 190 days after projects began. The verified Gateway to Research sample was later still. That does not support a credible timing advantage for suppliers, so GrantSignal is not opening customer access or paid plans.
Official first
Immutable source snapshots and provenance are retained for the validation work.
No false certainty
Company matches and possible supplier needs require evidence and visible confidence.
No premature launch
The product stays in validation-list mode until a newly verified dataset supports it.
Method
What GrantSignal is validating.
A commercially useful source signal.
The test is not whether public award records exist. It is whether the data is complete, timely and specific enough to help B2B suppliers understand a funded project without overstating what a recipient may buy.
- 01
Capture official records
Snapshot structured Innovate UK and UKRI data with source URLs, hashes and retrieval dates.
- 02
Test commercial usefulness
Check company coverage, award values, project descriptions, dates, matching confidence and publication delay.
- 03
Keep facts and inferences separate
Any future supplier-category signal must include evidence, confidence and the exact required label.
Evidence standard
No procurement promise from a funding award.
An award is evidence of a funded project, not unrestricted purchasing budget. GrantSignal must never state that a recipient intends to buy a product or service unless the official source expressly says so.
Source facts
Officially published project, organisation, award, programme, date and provenance fields.
GrantSignal inferences
Possible supplier categories derived from project text, accompanied by evidence, explanation and confidence.
Commercial inference — not stated procurement intention.
